| | I remember it was summer and we were shopping for back to school. I had saved up money from something, probably babysitting and I was going to get to buy some of the clothes that I wanted to. We were always practical, we got the necessities. We went down to Ridge Road to the Velva Sheen that was right next to Payless Shoes. I remember being so excited. I put all the money in my purse and I was ready. We were walking around the store and looking at shirts. All of a sudden I didn't have my purse, I had set it down on one of the tables that held the piles of clothes. Frantically I went to find it, and discovered that someone had taken all of my money.
My mom's face echoed my heart. I was crushed and shocked.
So I'm reading this book by Suze Orman called the Nine Steps to Financial Freedom. I'm not sure if I will find it, but I know that some of my fears stem from this memory. That somehow saving up for something, it's all going to be taken away, unfairly, and that even though you work hard and do the right thing, awful circumstances can turn that all around.
I'm not sure yet what to do with all of this as I'm working through step number 1...
